John Lockhart was a true gentleman who always had time for anyone with whom he interacted. I've known John since first meeting him in 1965 when he was a member of my father's Rosedale United Church congregation and at a time when we as teens always called him 'Big John'. I am saddened for the loss of this icon and I send my sincerest condolences to the extended Lockhart family. Big John: You will be missed.

Peter and Wendy - The poem about the - dash - is most fitting for your dad. The testament for this is the legacy and family that he had. Truly a life well lived

I am deeply saddened by John’s passing. He was a true gentleman, well spoken and sincere. He was like a second father to me, always easy to talk to and offer assistance, from a hand written letter of recommendation to help with a small workshop project.
What a craftsman! He has transformed a small farmhouse that sat on a rubble stone foundation into a beautiful country home. Kitchen cabinets designed, fabricated and installed, swimming pool steps cut into an existing concrete wall, a garage extension, just some of his accomplishments. I even recall assisting on the removal of an oil fired water boiler furnace on Mariette Avenue that John replaced himself, years ago.
A car restorer as well, Andrea’s MG TD, imported from the UK, was completed to show winning excellence over many years of meticulous handiwork and attention to detail. From the replacement of the ash framework to polished stainless fasteners, John’s craftsmanship excelled.
Farewell old friend, Rest In Peace.
