A Christian gentleman with a great faith in our Lord. May he rest in peace.

Francis lived simply, valuing his autonomy, living his life fully, according to his Catholic faith. He often recounted memories of a satisfying childhood, growing up on his family's farm, between Dewittville and Huntingdon. He was generous of self and helpful to neighbours and others. Though he didn't have children of his own, as a teacher for a number of years in Manitoba, Francis no doubt inspired many young people. He was close to and could also depend upon nieces and his nephew for support and assistance. A traditional person, Francis embodied values of a world that is passing. He will be missed (but always remembered) by many in Huntingdon and beyond who have come to know Francis and to appreciate his life .

My sincere condolences to all the family here in Quebec, in Chateauguay Lake, and on Vancouver Island, British Columbia.

A neighbour and friend, Joe Bontems
