Dear Lyse, to you, Vivek, Gautama and Anand's famiy, please accept our heartfelt condolences. Our thoughts and prayers have been with Anand throughout. We can try and take comfort in the thought that he is now in a place of peace where pain and suffering is no more.. Anand inspired all of us with his strength and positivity he showed facing his battles with his health issues and pain. His laughs, smiles and kindness were contagious and pushed one's own issues into the background. i will always fondly remember our golf games over the last two summers where on alternate Thursdays he would drive all the way from Jolliette to Cornwall. Lots of fun and jokes during our rounds and celebrating afterwards at the 19th hole over beer and samosas. Sometimes Vivek would join us too - it was like playing with two Anands - the younger one I knew at university and the 'grownup'. And we loved how you endearingly called him Swami! Dear Swami we will always miss you - Maina Shalini KumKum Ranjan

Known Anand since the age of 5. Our families were close. His mother Anna was my mother's best friend in New Delhi. Later we met up again in college. His friendship & embrace was always warm and his humor infectious. He made it a point to always stay in touch even if we could not meet. He remembered everyones' names! Rest In Peace, dear old friend

Dear Lyse and Anand's family. My wife Sunaina and I were saddened to hear about the passing of Anand. Please accept our deepest condolences for your loss. I first met Anand when we joined IIT Madras together in 1961. We were part of the Delhi gang at IIT and so apart from the IIT campus, our friendship extended to having great fun together in Delhi during vacations. His extrovert nature and sense of humour endeared him to all. My abiding memory of him was his talent for excelling in whatever sport he took up. Later, when we all moved on, it was he who kept in touch and visited us in Delhi whenever he came. Sadly, his health prevented him from coming in the past few years. We shall miss him very much.

  • Sam Iyengar

Dear Lyse, Vivek and Gautama, our sincere condolences to you on the loss of a wonderful person. I knew Anand as a child and have great memories playing with him in Madras. Our families were very close and I went to school and college with him. Imagine my surprise when years later he phoned me from Joliette where he had decided to settle. Over the years I saw him a great deal and have fond memories of us playing tennis, squash and in the last few years golf. He was gifted in sports and always full of humour. His generosity was never ending and at my 70th birthday insisted on providing steaks for my entire family who were visiting. We enjoyed Lyse and Anand's hospitality at St. Anicet many times..We felt so fortunate to see Anand with my brother in early March. He was still as cheerful as ever and fighting to the last! The world will not be the same without Anand and we will miss him terribly.

    Gilles Poupart, CPA, CA
