It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy (McNaughton) McCaig, age 98, on February 21, 2026, in Ormstown Qc. She was comforted in her final days by the constant love and support of her family. Dorothy was the heart of her family, raising three children, Murray (Marilyn), Heather (Donnie), and Sue (Gordon). She was a loving grandmother to 11 cherished grandchildren and their spouses, and a proud great-grandmother to 24 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. She was predeceased by Donald, her husband of 62 years, sisters Helen, Shirley, and brother Douglas. She is survived by her sister-in-law Eleanor Lamb and many nieces and nephews. A lifelong lover of country music and dance, Dorothy devoted over 25 years volunteering with the Tender Loving Care music therapy program at Huntington County Hospital. Her commitment to her community extended to the Dewittville Women’s Institute and Huntington United Church, where she was a life member. At home, she was an avid gardener who took great pride in her flower beds, often spending her early mornings outside, admiring them. Her memory will forever be held in the hearts of those who loved her so dearly. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Huntingdon United Church on February 23, 2026 with visitation at 1:00 pm followed by a service at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Tender Loving Care, Huntingdon County Hospital, or the Canadian Cancer Society.
