Heather passed away on March 23, 2025, peacefully in her sleep at home in Saint-Anicet. She was born in Caraquet, New Brunswick on August 24, 1942. Heather is survived by her husband of 63 years Raymond, her three sons David, Michael (Laurie), and Robert (Chavonne); ten grandchildren (Alisha, Brandon, Megan, Nasthazia, Jeremy, Sebastian, Zachary, Kylie, Charlotte, and Victoria); one great grandchild, James; her brother James Gracie, and her sister Dawn Ebbett. Heather lived an active and exciting life, raising a family, working as a nurse for 40 years and serving as a municipal councillor for 20 years. She was particularily involved with amateur hockey and worked hard to raise funds for the Huntingdon arena. One of the dressing rooms bears her name to commemorate these efforts. Heather gave many hours to various hospital organizations and the support of breast cancer survivors, and was a strong proponent of the Betty Riel foundation. Her community work will be missed. Visitations will be held on Friday, April 4th, from 6 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday, April 5th from 1 to 4 p.m. at Rodrigue Montpetit & Fils Funeral Home, 170 Châteauguay St., Huntingdon. Burial at the Saint-Anicet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers or any other remembrance, donations to the Betty Riel Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Heather laisse dans le deuil son mari des 63 dernières années, Raymond, ses trois fils David, Micheal (Laurie) et Robert (Chavonne); dix petits-enfants Alisha, Brandon, Megan, Nasthazia, Jeremy, Sebastian, Zachary, Kylie, Charlotte et Victoria, un arrière-petit-enfant, son frère James Gracie et sa sœur Dawn Ebbett. Heather a vécu une vie active et passionnante, élevant une famille, ayant été infirmière pendant 40 ans et siégeant en tant que conseillère municipale pendant 20 ans. Elle était particulièrement impliquée dans le hockey mineur et a déployé beaucoup d’efforts pour recueillir des fonds pour l’aréna de Huntingdon. L’un des vestiaires porte d’ailleurs son nom en hommage de son dévouement. Heather a consacré de nombreuses heures à diverses organisations hospitalières et au soutien des survivantes du cancer du sein, et elle était une fervente supportrice de la fondation Betty Riel. Son travail communautaire nous manquera.
