1938-2024

Pauline Jeanette Marie (Caza) Atassi, 85, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at home with family by her side. Pauline was born on March 23, 1938, to Vivian (LeBlanc) and Victor Caza in Malone, NY. She attended, St. Joseph’s Ursuline Academy in Malone, NY and went on to attend SUNY at Albany where she was a member of their chorale group. She graduated with a Major in History and Minor in French. After graduation, she worked on her master’s in education and spent several years teaching in New York State before moving to Michigan, Minnesota, and eventually Texas.

Pauline loved music. She loved singing and was an accomplished pianist. She would often be found sitting at her piano where she would lose track of time. She loved history, especially World War II era movies and visiting any historical sites. She also had a love for animals. They seemed to flock to her. She never met an animal she didn’t love and had many pets over the years, cats and dogs being her favorite. She took pride in her family.

She was immensely proud of her family and loved them dearly. Although she was an only child, she had a huge family with aunts, uncles, and cousins whom she grew up with. She cherished being a grandmother and loved being with her grandchildren. She also loved Christmas, as it was her favorite time of year. She was always happy to socialize with people and enjoyed any outing. She especially liked to travel with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Shana Atassi and son-in-law, Jeffery Brunson; grandchildren, Owen Brunson and Audrey Brunson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vivian and Victor Caza.
